ON THE RISE
Inspired by Stereophonic
This sunset cocktail is perfect for long studio sessions and is sure to top your chart. Nothing beats the vibe of tequila mixed with the sweet and tart combo of orange, lemon, and pomegranate. And if rocking in the fast lane is not your jam, just skip the tequila and triple sec, and use seltzer instead.
2 oz Milagro Tequila
1 oz Orange Juice
1/2 oz Triple Sec
1/2 oz Lemon Juice
1/2 oz Pomegranate Syrup
Add tequila, orange juice, triple sec, and lemon juice to a rocks glass full of ice. Stir until chilled. Float pomegranate syrup on top and allow to drop.
REPUBLIC CAFÉ
Inspired by Prayer for the French Republic
Just as Elodie sat over a drink and monologued about the world around her, so too can you. This cocktail starts with comforting cognac and finishes with a hit of sweet almond and, most importantly, caffeine. It will get you started and keep you going for Sunday's 4.5 hours worth of Tonys broadcasts. And if the only coffee liqueur you know is Kahlua, give Mr. Black a try; its authentic coffee flavor is truly unmatched.
2 oz Cognac (we recommend Maison Rouge)
1 oz Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate
1/2 oz Mr Black Cold Brew Liqueur
1/4 oz Orgeat
Two Dashes Orange Bitters
Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Shake until chilled and serve straight up in a brandy snifter.
GREAT AMERICAN BITCH
Inspired by Suffs
Why be a Pink Lady when you can be a Great American Bitch? Just as Alice Paul riffed on those who came before her, this spin on the classic pink drink swaps applejack and grenadine for crème de VOTE (ahem, we mean violette) and Vermouth Bianco. Compared to the old recipe, not only is it punchier... it is suffragist purple. Not even President Wilson could say no!
2 oz Gin
1 oz Lemon Juice
3/4 oz Vermouth Bianco
1/2 oz Crème de Violette
2 dashes Orange bitters
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until chilled and strain into martini glass or coupe. Garnish with a lemon twist.
SPARKLING RASPBERRY LEMONADE (Non-Alcoholic)
Inspired by Doubt
This season's revival of Doubt was extraordinary, but no one can deny that it was also a heavy-hitter. For times when you want to keep things light, SHG recommends this zero-alcohol mocktail. This punch was one of the biggest hits during Doubt's run at the Todd Haimes Theatre and we hope you love it too!
2 oz lemon juice
1 1/2 oz simple syrup
2-3 Raspberries
2 Sprigs of Mint
8 oz seltzer
In a rocks glass, muddle the raspberries and mint until fragrant. Add lemon juice, simple syrup, and ice. Top with seltzer and stir to combine. Garnish with a sprig of mint.
